Schools within the Redondo Unified School District are among the top performing in the Nation. Redondo Unified is the largest school district within the Beach Cities. The Redondo Beach Unified School District has been ranked within the Top 20 best school districts in the state of California.There are 8 elementary schools (3 in South Redondo and 5 in North Redondo), 2 middle schools (one in South Redondo and one in North Redondo) and one high school that serves residents of Redondo Beach. Redondo Union High School is the oldest high school in the South Bay, dating back to the turn of the century. It is the second largest campus in the state, starting at PCH and extending over 10 blocks to Prospect Ave. it lies between Diamond St. and Vincent St. All residents of the City of Redondo Beach are slated to attend Redondo Union and Hermosa Beach residents have the choice to attend either Redondo Union High School or Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.
Redondo Union High School has been listed amongst the Nation's Best High Schools by US News & World Report and Newsweek and was ranked #10 in the 2015 Best LA High Schools rankings by Niche. The school offers a well-rounded curriculum from challenging AP courses to state championship level athletics and music departments. The Redondo Beach Ed Foundation
The Redondo Beach Ed Foundation, or RBEF, was founded by parents and community leaders in order to fill the gap in state educational funding. Through the efforts of the RBEF, Redondo Beach schools continue to provide an elevated level of education at every grade level within the district.
The RBEF directs numerous donor drives and fundraising events. The Foundation forges important relationships with local businesses and organizations to help provide the funding required to support the educational expectations of the Redondo Beach community. All funds raised by the RBEF directly impact local schools.
